VR Teleoperated Robotic Arm

6 DOF Robotic Arm that is controllable via a VR headset

Built by curranmock

Creating a cost effective robotic arm that can be controlled using a virtual reality (VR) headset, allowing a person to operate it as if they were physically there. This arm has 6 degrees of freedom, meaning it has 6 different servos controlling it, maximizing it's reach in uncomfortable positions. The goal is not to replace humans with robots, it is to let people perform detailed, hands-on tasks while staying safely away from dangerous environments through the use of robots. By combining human control with robotic strength and durability, we hope to make work in places like disaster zones, hazardous material areas, deep ocean exploration, and other risky settings both safer and more effective, while maintaining the, sometimes mandatory, human touch for complex tasks.
