Precision FOC Brushless Motor Controller

Built by Aiyan Ahmed

Most basic electric bikes and scooters suffer from high motor noise and poor efficiency at low speeds because they use primitive trapezoidal control. To fix this, I am building a custom 3-phase motor controller using an ESP32. By implementing Field Oriented Control, the firmware will drive the motor with smooth, mathematically optimized waveforms instead of rough steps. This eliminates the switching noise and maximizes low-speed efficiency. The project shrinks industrial EV powertrain technology down to a safe 12V desktop setup, making it easy to build, test, and master advanced hardware layout and real-time control loops.
