Hand-controlled gestures replace the classic joystick control of a drone. This makes flight control feel like an extension of the body. The system works by using a computer vision script through a laptop webcam to map the user's hand and associate hand gestures with drone actions. The drone frame will be designed using topology optimization and 3D-printed with SLS by PCBway to mitigate structural inefficiencies. A Raspberry Pi on the drone receives the spatial telemetry and communicates with the flight control for precise motion.
