7 DOF Humanoid Arms (FDM)
Creating an Affordable/Accessible Open Source Research Platform for Humanoid Development
Built by shritan kommareddy
An open-source, 3D-printable 7-DOF humanoid robotic arm designed as an accessible research platform. Built with high-torque serial bus servos and a Raspberry Pi 5, it integrates with ROS2 for motion planning and supports VR teleoperation for intuitive control. An onboard camera enables autonomous and agentic operation, allowing the arm to perceive and interact with its environment independently. With all CAD files, BOM, and software fully open source, anyone can build and expand on it, making capable robotic manipulation research accessible to everyone.
